Nvidia acquiring Ageia Technologies
Graphic Card maker Nvidia has said that they are now acquiring Ageia Technologies.
Ageia Technologies is most popularly known for their middleware product called PhysX. This technology is used to provide realistic physics effects in videogame titles.
Their technology is already widely used in more than 140 games available for the most popular consoles in the market today.
The two companies have not disclosed the financial aspects of this acquisition deal.
Nvidia said in this statement that this acquisition would help them enhance their graphics products by supporting physical reality components in videogames.
Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO of Nvidia in a statement said: “The computer industry is moving towards a heterogeneous computing model, combining a flexible CPU and a massively parallel processor like the GPU to perform computationally intensive applications.”
