Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD drive now for USD 129.99
Microsoft has lowered the price of the HD DVD they ship for their Xbox 360 gaming console. The drive now costs just around USD 129.99.
This is a price drop of USD 50 and highlights the struggling condition of the HD DVD industry. Microsoft incidentally is still offering the drive with five free movies.
This price is applicable to markets including United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
HD DVD is struggling to compete against the Blu-Ray format. Just recently, Warner Bros. and New Line announced that they are going to exclusively support just the Blu-Ray format. Microsoft too has been rumored to be considering switching to this format which has been developed by their rival company Sony.
