Hot on the heels of the first official pics of Nintendo’s new handheld, the DS, Sony have unveiled their own pocket rocket, the PSP. The final design isn’t far removed from earlier concept renders, and the official specs haven’t thrown up any major surprises, but attendees of Sony’s pre-E3 press conference were cock-a-hoop at the unveiling.

The specs confirm a graphical performance comparable with PS2, while the comfortably spacious 16:9 widescreen format threatens to make Nintendos double screen format look a little, well, cramped.
