Microsoft Xbox Live Marketplace to feature user created games
If you are a hobbyist game developer, you now have the power to showcase your games on the Microsoft Xbox Live Marketplace!
Microsoft has now announced that they are opening the platform to third party developers to code and present their games for the Xbox 360 console.
This announcement was made at the Game Developers Conference.
John Schappert, a Microsoft vice president spoke about this new development: “The time has come for the games industry to open its doors to all game creators, enabling anyone to share their creations with the world. Our goal is to drive a creative and social revolution in games with the same transformative power that we’ve seen in digital music and video sharing.”
These games could be developed using the XNA Game Studio 2.0 which is available for download from the store itself.
Microsoft also talked about some of the games which are being provided in this community driven model: JellyCar, Little Gamers, and TriLinea.
