Microsoft Xbox 360 now cheaper in Europe
Microsoft has announced a price cut on their Xbox 360 gaming console in the European market as they aim to put more pressure on Sony Playstation 3.
The company has reduced the prices of the different variants by as much as 28 percent.
The cheapest Xbox 360 (Arcade edition) is now priced at 200 Euros. The top end Elite edition would now sell for 370 Euros.
Chris Lewis, vice president of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business in Europe spoke about this new development: “Xbox 360 is now mass market in Europe.”
Microsoft recently faced a major disappointment in this segment of the market when Toshiba exited from the HD DVD market. Sony is the company behind the winning Blu-Ray format which is supported by their Playstation 3 console.
