Sony makes Playstation Portable net enabled
Entertainment Giant Sony has announced that it would be releasing a software based update for their massively popular Playstation Portable gaming console. This new update would add several new enhancements to the already very capable handheld device. Users would now be able to connect their PSP to the Internet and even download television programs for future watching on the move.
One of the main software add-on in this version 2 update is be a web browser. This browser application supports HTML 4.01 standards and as a result would support most websites on the Internet. The device already comes with support for wireless LAN for online gaming and for downloading software from the Internet. However, this latest update makes the services active and official.
Users until now had to hack their way around the system on the PSP to get access to the Internet. This update also brings support for downloading video in the MPEG4 AVC format. While making the announcement, the company showcased the practical working of this technology by connecting a PSP with the new software to a PSP portal site that will be launched next week by a Sony affiliated company SoNet.
Some other features are the ability to transfer photos from one PSP to another via an ad hoc wireless LAN, and support for additional media formats including the AAC audio format.

That would be like the coolest thing ever I swear, I was thinking of getting one but I only did if it had internet access. How much is the software for the internet?
