Ubisoft acquires rights to use Tom Clancy name
Videogame maker Ubisoft has revealed that they have now acquired the intellectual property rights to the Tom Clancy name.
The company would now be able to use the brand name for their videogames and related products.
The financial aspects of this deal were not revealed to the media. However, experts believe that this would save them EUR 5 million per year in royalties.
The company was till now licensing the name for use in their games like Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six.
