Atari to be acquired fully by Infogrames Entertainment
Infogrames Entertainment has announced that they are going to acquire the videogame company Atari completely.
They already own 51.4 percent of Atari’s stock.
This deal would still require the approval of the company shareholders. However, it would not be a problem as they themselves own majority of the shares in the company.
The company said that acquisition would help them have more control over restructuring Atari.
They aim to make Atari a bigger player in the videogame industry in the US market. Atari is a struggling company now as it never could recover from the downfall after its market was taken away by rival companies like Nintendo and Sega.
