Nintendo told to pay $21 million to Anascape
Nintendo of America has now been told by the courts to pay $21 million to Anascape for infringing on their patented technologies.
The courts said that Nintendo infringed on patents owned by Anascape in designing controllers for Nintendo Wii and Nintendo GameCube consoles.
The lawsuit was filed way back in 2006.
Nintendo has said that they are going to file an appeal against this judgment. They expect the courts to reduce the amount significantly.
The Nintendo products found to be infringing the patents include Wii Classic, WaveBird and Gamecube controllers.
