Nyko Technologies sued by Nintendo
Japanese videogame console maker Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against Nyko Technologies.
Nintendo is suing the company for manufacturing a knock-off of the Nunchuk remote controller which is used on their Wii gaming console.
Nyko manufactures the Kama Nunchuk device which works with the Wii gaming console.
Nintendo is claiming in the lawsuit that Nyko product copies its patented designs and infringes its trademarks for the Nunchuk name and packaging.
Incidentally, this is the first time that Nintendo is targeting a company over an accessory for the Wii gaming console.
Nyko spokesman CC Swiney responded in a statement: “We have not knowingly violated anyone’s intellectual property and we’re still examining this.”
