Len Wiseman to direct Gears of War movie

New Line has announced that Len Wiseman would be directing the movie based on the popular videogame series Gears of War.

Wiseman is the director of the blockbuster Live Free or Die Hard.

Gears of War is a gaming series developed by Epic Games and it has been a massive hit in the market ever since the first title was launched on the Xbox 360 in November 2006.

Chris Morgan would be handling the Screenplay for this movie. He has worked on “Wanted” and “The Fast and the Furious 4”.

Cliff Bleszinski, the “Gears” design director at Epic spoke about making movies based on videogames: “Hollywood needs to take the source material seriously, win over the avid gamers and make it work for an audience that is young and old, male and female.”
