Activision gets permission to merge with Blizzard

Videogame Company Activision has announced that they have now received permission from their shareholders to merge with the Vivendi’s video gaming division.

The new company would be named Activision Blizzard.

Activision said that as many as 92 percent of votes were in favor of this deal.

They now expect to close the merger today.

This deal would give Vivendi a 52 percent ownership stake in the new company which is now more capable of taking on Electronic Arts which is currently the largest videogame publisher in the world.

The two companies had earlier received regulatory approval in April this year.
