Hybride Technologies acquired by Ubisoft
Ubisoft has announced that they are now acquiring Canadian company Hybride Technologies.
Hybride Technologies specializes in providing special effects in movies.
This is a strange deal between a company dealing with movies with a company dealing in videogames.
Hybride has worked for major blockbusters including 300 and Sin City.
Ubisoft said that their technology would help them improve the quality of their videogame titles.
This would also help them develop movies based on their videogame titles like the ones based on Tom Clancy stories.
Company representative Yannis Mallat said in a statement: “This alliance is a true first for the industry. Ubisoft and Hybride share the same vision of entertainment convergence.”
