Microsoft announces pricing for Xbox 360
World’s largest software company Microsoft has finally revealed more details about their plans with Xbox 360 gaming console expected to arrive in the retail market later this year. The gaming console would be available in two versions costing $300 and $400 as per the details coming from the company. The announcement was made at the Games Convention event in Leipzig, Germany and would come as big news for the Xbox fan base.
The Xbox 360 would be more than just a gaming console. It would be capable of displaying high-definition video and would be considerably more powerful than any other device in its class. The company has displayed sample games on the prototypes at various gaming events in the past and they have really managed to impress the media and fans alike with their quality of graphics and gaming content.
This console would be powered by a three-core Power PC chip custom-produced for the device by IBM. The graphical engine is powered by ATI Technologies and the console is expected to come with a 12X dual-layer DVD-ROM drive. The USD 400 model would also feature an external hard drive to add additional storage capacity to the device for gaming content.
Other special features include a wireless controller, headset, Ethernet cable, and wireless remote control in the more expensive model of the Xbox 360. This variant would be called the Premium addition and the owners of the cheaper version can buy any of these accessories at a later date.
