Librica: Nintendo Wii to get digital comics in Japan

Japanese manga comic publishers Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha and Shogakukan have come together to form a joint venture.

These companies are working on a project to launch digital comics on the Nintendo Wii platform.

This venture has been named Librica and it would deliver comics on the Wii through the Nintendo’s Wii Ware software channel.

Customers would of course require an internet connection to get the content on their television sets.

They are currently targeting the Wii customers in Japan though they have plans to do something similar for the Nintendo DS handheld console.
