Electronic Arts reshuffles executives on board
Leading videogames developers and publishers Electronic Arts have announced plans to reshuffle some of the company’s top tiers. The decision came after two of their high profile executives left the company to pursue other goals. Don Mattrick is one such individual who worked for the publisher since 1991. Don was the president of the Worldwide Studios and now plans to seek other challenges outside Electronic Arts.
Mattrick commented on his decision to leave the famed gaming company: “This is an ideal time for me to evaluate the next set of challenges in my career. I wish everyone at EA enormous success and hope that I’ll be working with them again soon.” Paul Lee, formerly executive vice president and chief operation officer of EA Worldwide Studios, would now replace him.
The other big name to leave the company is Vancouver-based executive vice president Bruce McMillan. With other decisions taken by the company, Senior VP of European publishing Gerhard Florin is now executive vice president of international publishing. Frank Gibeau leaves North American Marketing to become the executive VP of North American publishing.
EA CEO Larry Probst said in a statement about these decisions: “Each of these executives has served many years in our company, developing their leadership skills and proving themselves with increasing levels of responsibility. I believe this is the strongest and most capable executive team in our industry.”
