EA gets antitrust approval for any potential deal with Take Two

EA recently announced that they are not extending their acquisition offer for Take-Two Interactive Software.

The company felt that they would not be able to complete the deal before the holiday season. They would probably be back with a new offer in the coming months.

EA has some new reasons to be back. The company has now received the blessings of regulatory body to go ahead with the deal. They would not face any antitrust related problems.

Federal Trade Commission mentioned on their website: “Upon further review of this matter, it now appears that no additional action by the commission is warranted at this time. Accordingly, the investigation has been closed.”

Take Two has already rejected several offers from EA stating that they were being undervalued. They are the makers of the hugely successful GTA series and are scheduled to launch a PC version of GTA4 later this year.
