Hillcrest Laboratories sues Nintendo over Wii gaming controller
US based company Hillcrest Laboratories has filed a lawsuit against Japanese videogame console maker Nintendo.
This lawsuit is related to their Nintendo Wii gaming console.
Hillcrest Laboratories is claiming in this lawsuit that the Wiimote controller infringes on their owned patents.
The lawsuit states: “While Hillcrest Labs has a great deal of respect for Nintendo and the Wii, Hillcrest Labs believes that Nintendo is in clear violation of its patents and has taken this action to protect its intellectual property rights.”
Nintendo Wii has been the most successful gaming console of this generation. It is massively popular in the markets it has been launched in and it continues to outsell both Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.
