Electronic Arts end talks with Take-Two Interactive
Electronic Arts has finally given up (for the time being we believe) on their hopes to acquire Take-Two Interactive.
The company said in a statement that they have now ended their talks with the company behind the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto videogame series.
EA said that they took this latest decision after considering management presentations.
Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said in his statement: “We’ve never been in an auction mode; we’ve been in the mode to consider our strategic alternatives. We thought the steps Electronic Arts took were unfortunate.”
Owen Mahoney, senior vice president of corporate development at Electronic Arts had this to say: “It was a well-informed decision. We don’t need Take-Two to make EA successful.”
