Nintendo Game Boy Micro makes impressive debut
Nintendo has just launched a mini version of their Game Boy Advance in the form of Game Boy Micro. And this mobile phone sized gaming machine generated better than expected business on its launch event. However, it could not match the excitement the original GBA had generated and of course, nowhere near the excitement Sony’s Playstation Portable generated.
Nintendo claims that the Game Boy Micro is the world’s smallest console and it has for now are available in their home market of Japan. It is expected to be launched in United States next week. The price of this gaming device in the Japanese market is around 12,000 yen. The company dominates the portable game industry with a market share of about 94 percent and they want to keep this improving as it looks to compete with Sony PSP.
Sony is also due to launch a new colored version of their Sony PSP in the market soon. It would be white in color compared to the current black colored edition. Nintendo on their part are targeting the women, casual gamer audience who are not exactly hardcore gamers with their new device, which looks slick and is very compact.
The Micro is available in Japan in silver, purple, black and blue, with a fifth “limited edition” design.
