Take-Two Interactive Software aims to remain independent
Take-Two Interactive Software has said that they are aiming to remain independent after recent talks with Electronic Arts broke down.
The two companies could not settle on a price and EA took back their offer.
Take Two is the company behind massively popular titles including the Grand Theft Auto series.
The company said in a statement: “Take-Two’s Board of Directors has determined that it is in the best interests of stockholders to conclude its review of strategic alternatives and to continue operating and building Take-Two as an independent company.”
Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick added: “We are strongly positioned creatively, financially and competitively to benefit from the opportunities we see in the fastest growing segment of the entertainment industry.”
