California files a lawsuit against Microsoft over Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death

Microsoft Xbox 360 console has been one of the best selling gaming consoles of this generation.

However, it is also known to be the one with the highest defect rate. One of the major problems affecting the console is the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death which requires a replacement in most cases.

The State of California has now filed a lawsuit against the software giant claiming that the company knowingly manufactured faulty Xbox 360 consoles and sold them in the market to get the time advantage against the rivals Sony and Nintendo.

As a result, they had a one year advantage over the other two consoles Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3.

The lawsuit claims that the failure rate of the consoles at one time used to be around 50% which is much more than the industry norm 3%.

What I want to know is how can I get in on this lawsuit if I am not from Cali? Maybe i should file a suit from my state. So far I am on system number 4 the first three suffred the redring death and if I did not have so many games for the 360 I would have tossed it in the trash a year ago.

I agree that Microsoft tried to get it’s head ahend of Sony. I love the 360 but i haven’t had the dreaded ring of death. I’ve had the 1 ring which ISN’T covered under the new extension of the waritey. I’m really annoyed at Microsoft because i have error of e74 and that is AV cable fauilure. My 12 months were up 3 weeks ago. I would love to get my own back. Keep on Sony.

Can we still get in on the lawsuit. I have had the same error twice now and they want more money to fix it, again. Does anyone have the contact information on it?
