Nintendo Wii Fit could outsell Grand Theft Auto IV

Market reports claim that Nintendo has already sold more than 8.7 million copies of Wii Fit in the market.

It is still selling in large numbers and it could potentially overtake the sales of Grand Theft Auto IV which is the largest selling videogame of this year.

Online data shows that Rockstar has sold almost 10.6 million copies of GTA 4 since its launch earlier this year.

Nintendo on the other hand is still selling more than 200,000 copies of Wii Fit per week for the last few months.

Market analyst Michael Pachter spoke about the popularity of Wii Fit compared to that of GTA: “I consider Wii Fit more of a platform than a game.” He added that the Wii Fit’s popularity just states that alternative genre of games can still find gamers when compared to mainline games like Grand Theft Auto.
