Envizions Computer Entertainment to launch Linux-based EVO gaming console

Envizions Computer Entertainment has announced that they are all set to launch their Linux-based EVO gaming console.

It would go one sale next month.

The system uses the Linux operating system as its base for enabling the user to play games.

The company is initially going to target early adopters and developers before the console could be launched for the mass market gamers.

They are going to make available only 500 to 1,300 units in the United States and Canada.

The console costs USD 599 but interested customers would be able to purchase one for USD 249.

This new gaming console in the market would have little to offer to owners in terms of games. But it would have features like support for VoIP, cloud computing, and storage services.

It would come loaded with a modified version of Fedora 8 pre-installed.
