Beatles music would form base of a new videogame by Harmonix
Harmonix and MTV Networks is working on a new musical videogame title which would bring access to the Beatles catalog.
Unlike the rumor, the music would not be featured in Rock Band video game.
This new title would not be part of the Rock Band series.
Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music/Logo Group spoke about this new game: “It will be an interactive music-making game. I would say that there will be interactive performance of Beatles music, as well as a number of new dimensions that you haven’t seen from us so far.”
Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos added: “This game is not just a Rock Band expansion pack. It is a new, full game title production built from the ground up.”
The two companies added that they have been in talks with Apple Corps for about 17 months.
Apple Corps is the multimedia corporation founded by the Beatles in 1968. It has no connections with Apple Inc.
