EA next to announce job cuts
Electronic Arts has announced that they are now lowering its profit forecast for the year .
The company is also going to cut their workforce by around 6%.
EA said that their sales have gone down in the month of October.
The company added that they are planning to eliminate 500 to 600 of its 9,400 jobs.
The aim is to save $50 million a year in expenses.
EA Chief Executive John Riccitiello spoke about the new developments: “Considering the slowdown at retail we’ve seen in October, we are cautious in the short term. Longer term, we are very bullish on the game sector overall and on EA in particular.”
The company has posted a loss of $310 million, or 97 cents a share, for the quarter ending in September.
