Nintendo expected to post record profits

World’s economy might be going through tough times but Japanese videogame company Nintendo is not affected by it at all.

The company in fact is on course to post record profits for this year.

Both of the company’s flagship products Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS are big sellers and they continue to generate huge profits for the company.

Nintendo said that they are expecting to post record net profit of 345 billion yen in the year that would end in march 2009.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said in a statement: “As far as the overseas market is concerned, I have not seen any signs of slowing demand for the Wii and the DS due to the financial crisis. We can surely meet the sales target of the Wii.”
