Fallout 3 a big seller for Bethesda Softworks

Bethesda Softworks has sold 4.7 million units of role-playing game Fallout 3 in the first week of launch.

The game is available in the market for three platforms: Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and PC.

The sales in terms of value was around USD 300 million.

These figures are comparable to the launch of Halo 3 last year. Halo 3 was exclusive for Microsoft Xbox 360 so it sold less units compared to Fallout 3.

Bethesda launched the game in the US market on October 28. The game was launched in Europe on October 31. Japan would get it on December 4.
