Nintendo Wii sold 2 million units in November!
Nintendo was the winner of the gaming console war in the month of November.
The Japanese videogame console maker sold more than 2 million units of Wii in this crucial holiday period.
Microsoft Xbox 360 saw sales of 836,000 units. Sony PS3 sold 378,000 units.
Microsoft stated in its own report that it was the best November month ever for the Xbox 360 console which was launched earliest of these three consoles.
Gears of War 2 was the top selling game of the month with sales of 1.6 million units.
Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing spoke about their performance: “Even in this economy, cash registers are ringing with Nintendo products.”
Nintendo Wii interestingly has been so popular in the market that it is still pretty hard to find a unit in retail stores even now.
