Nintendo sued for Wii controller wrist strap
Nintendo Wii has been the best selling videogame console of this generation.
The company features an intuitive remote control type controller.
Nintendo ships the controller with a wrist strap designed to prevent the user from throwing it away from the hand while playing motion intensive games.
Nintendo has now been sued for this same strap as a party is claiming that the strap is ineffective.
Molly Elvig, a mother from Littleton, Colarado claims that the strap is faulty. She has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the Japanese videogame company.
The lawsuit claims that her 52 in Samsung television was damaged by a Wii controller that flew away from her son’s hand while he was playing a game on the console.
Nintendo has stated it in the past that the strap may break if “excessive force” was used. The lawsuit claims that the defective nature of this strap has not been disclosed by the company.
