Electronic Arts to cut more jobs

World’s second largest videogame publisher Electronic Arts has announced that they are going to cut more jobs in their operations.

The company has now increased their job cut target to 1000 workers. This comes to around 10% of their total workforce.

EA also said that they are in the process of consolidating or closing down 9 of their studios and publishing centers.

All these changes would be complete before the end of March next year.

Market analyst Todd Mitchell spoke about the new developments in the videogame market: “EA, and indeed the entire industry, needs to rationalize their product line-ups. There are just too many games. Not every publisher needs to be in every genre.”
