Sony PlayStation 2 remains the most popular gaming console
Nintendo Wii might be winning the current generation videogame console war but it still cannot challenge the popularity of Sony PlayStation 2.
Sony has failed to put a dent in the sales of Xbox 360 and Wii with their PlayStation 3 console. But they still sell millions of units of PS2 in the market.
Market research firm Nielsen has reported that 31.7 percent of the American gamers are basically Sony PlayStation 2 owners. Microsoft Xbox 360 has a 17.2 percent market share. Nintendo Wii comes third with 13.4 percent.
World of Warcraft is the most popular videogame in the US market. The report said that gamers played an average of 631 minutes per week between the months of January and October in USA.
