Electronic Arts and Steven Spielberg to collaborate on videogames
Oscar winner and one of the greatest moviemakers of our times Steven Spielberg has collaborated with the largest game publishing company Electronic Arts. They plan to develop three original video game titles for the ever-growing gaming market. Spielberg would be working with the EA’s Los Angeles studio on these games.
The parties have however not disclosed their terms and conditions. Neil Young, vice president and studio head at EA Los Angeles just said this about their collaboration that they would be making use of the new technology in upcoming gaming consoles, while delivering more engaging and novel play and entertainment. He said: “Who is a better person to tackle that challenge with than Steven Spielberg?”
The developed games would remain the intellectual property of the Electronic Arts as they would be developing, publishing, and distributing the game. Steven is one of the co-founders of the DreamWorks SKG movie studio, which used to produce video games for a time under its DreamWorks Interactive division. That division was later acquired by EA in 2000.
