NASA to develop a MMO game titled Astronaut: Moon, Mars & Beyond
US based space agency NASA has announced that they are working with three game developers on a massively multiplayer online video game named “Astronaut: Moon, Mars & Beyond.”
Virtual Heroes, Project Whitecard and Information in Place are the three companies which are going to help on this new project from NASA.
Daniel Laughlin, project manager for NASA Learning Technologies spoke about this game: “The single biggest point that was pushed forward by the game community was that you have to let game design lead the development. It’s easy to build a game that’s no fun. It’s hard to build a game that’s successful and fun.”
Jerry Heneghan, founder and CEO of Virtual Heroes added: “We’ve had to create a new genre of gameplay, creating what we call first person exploration.”
Gamers would be able to take on astronaut roles in this new title.
