Sony Playstation 3 outsells Nintendo Wii in Japan
Sony Playstation 3 gaming console has managed to outsell Nintendo Wii in the Japanese market for the first time in around 16 months.
Nintendo Wii has dominated the Japanese market with their games aimed at every possible age group.
Sony has now bounced back with a series of new game launches which has enhanced the lure of the PS3 gaming console.
Market sources states that Sony sold 146,948 units in the five week period through March 29. This is much better compared to sales of 99,335 units of the Wii in the same period.
Microsoft Xbox 360 continues to struggle in the Japanese market with sales of 43,172 units in the same period.
Enterbrain said in a report that the launch of games like Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 and Resident Evil 5 boosted the sales of PS3 in Japan.
