Nintendo collaborates with McDonalds
Wimax might be the flavor of the networking world right now but the current standard Wi-Fi is not going anywhere soon. Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has partnered with the fast food industry giants McDonalds along with the wireless-networking specialist Wayport. They would now be providing their customers the opportunity to engage in interactive gaming while they gobble down a burger and fries.
It is a novel concept to enable consumers enjoy their Nintendo gaming devices while they are having their food in McDonalds joints. Nintendo would be launching the new wireless-gaming service by releasing a selection of Wi-Fi-enabled games for its Nintendo DS players. McDonalds would be providing this functionality in around 6,000 of their restaurants around the world.
Nintendo DS owners would then be able to enjoy their games at Wi-Fi locations outside McDonald’s or in the home by using a laptop computer and a USB connector to access Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection service. While inside the McDonalds restaurant, the connection would be unveiled automatically when a Wi-Fi game is launched.
This would also help McDonalds make their restaurants more attractive to young clientele.
