Microsoft Xbox Live off today for renovations
Microsoft is keeping their online gaming service Xbox Live offline today while they prepare for the launch of their next generation gaming console Xbox 360. In addition, the website Xbox.com would also be down today for the same purpose. The company is due to launch the Xbox 360 next month and would be updating their sites and servers to support this new gaming console.
The company expects all the services to resume as soon as tomorrow so that the gamers can continue to enjoy on their Xbox gaming machines. Microsoft has also confirmed that they would be implementing a number of enhancements and additional community. They would also be adding a global ranking functionality coincide with the launch of its next generation console.
Some of the new sections to the online website of the company would include the addition of Xbox Live Marketplace, and an ‘achievements’ record system. The latter would be cataloging every player’s special accomplishments in every Xbox 360 game played. However, the users of this online service will not be able to see the changes until the Xbox 360 arrives in the market.
A new section on the Xbox.com website called My Xbox would preview these achievement records. They would also be available via the Xbox Live interface in addition to the website.
