Cricket is a complicated game to be replicated on a videogame console.
We have already seen a couple of attempts made by several videogame developers.
Most of them have been unsuccessful in capturing the hearts of millions of cricket fans around the world.
Ashes Cricket 2009 is a new game that is being developed by Transmission Games. It would be published by Codemasters in the UK and by Atari in Australia. These are the two countries which feature in the Ashes Cricket Tournament.
This game would be released on a variety of platforms: Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii and Windows. Gusto Games is developing the much awaited Wii version of this game.
The game is officially recognized by both Cricket Australia and the Marylebone Cricket Club. It would feature the official players of both Australian and England cricket teams.
One good thing is that the game would not focus solely on test matches. It would also have modes for One day internationals and Twenty20 cricket.
Commentary team would include high profile names like Tony Greig, Jonathan Agnew, Ian Bishop, Shane Warne, Sir Ian Botham and David Gower.
The launch date is August 7 so be prepared to have some fun on your Nintendo Wii gaming console!
