Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite is cheaper by USD 100
Microsoft has finally done the expected.
The US based software giant has decreased the price of Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite gaming console by USD 100 in the US market.
Xbox 360 Elite would now sell for USD 299.
The Xbox 360 Pro edition would now retail for USD 249. This edition has been phased out and the remaining units would sell at this new price point.
The only other model of the Xbox 360 console is the Arcade version which sells for USD 199.
Microsoft spoke about the price cut: “I’m sure some will think this is a response to competitor pricing. But we had planned this reduction months in advance. Retail circular ads and store merchandising were all lined up. We wanted to be ready for the holiday season.”
Sony had recently reduced the price of their own Playstation 3 console recently. Nintendo continues to sell their Wii console at USD 250.
