Microsoft expecting sales of three million Xbox 360 in first three months

Software giant Microsoft is going to launch their next generation gaming console Xbox 360 later this month. The anticipations are high from this console, which is supposed to bring overwhelming games and visual experience to the consumers. And the company is expecting to sell as many as 3 million units of the Xbox 360 in the first three months after the launch.

These figures were revealed by the Xbox Chief Financial Officer Bryan Lee at an investors’ conference in New York. He said that the company is looking at sales target of 2.75 million to 3 million Xbox 360 units in the first 90 days after the launch date of November 22. Interestingly, this comes just a couple of weeks after the company warned Xbox 360 might see a slow start. They are going for a worldwide launch of this console, which has never been tried before by any company.

Lee also suggested that they are looking at revenues of about $1.5 billion in the same period through the sales of consoles, games, peripherals and online gaming subscriptions. He also assured the investors that they are ready to face the demand from the market and their would not be any shortage as rumored in the media. They have got three electronics manufacturers building Xbox 360 for them.

These are Flextronics International Ltd., Wistron Inc., and Celestica Inc.
