New Xbox 360 owners making fortune on eBay

Microsoft launched their second iteration of gaming console Xbox 360 yesterday. As expected, the launch was a smash hit with all the stores reporting complete sell out of the stocks they had. However, not all of these fortunate new owners of the Xbox 360 gaming console would be playing games on them today.

Sources from the online bidding sites like eBay has claimed that they have seen massive number of Xbox 360 gaming consoles being resold on their network. Deals like these could fetch a lot of premium during the initial days of the launch of an electronic gadget. The online auction site said about 1,800 Xbox 360s were sold there between midnight and noon Pacific Time Tuesday.

Most of the online stores like Amazon, Circuit City, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart also reported complete sold out of the stocks they had. As a result, impatient gamers had to resort of purchasing the consoles being resold on bidding sites at high prices. eBay reported that the average price of the consoles, including those sold with games and other add-ons, was around USD 660.

This price is around USD 220 more than the fully loaded version of the Xbox 360, which retails at USD 399.99.
