Microsoft Xbox 360 to arrive in Asia by early spring 2006
Software giant Microsoft has already launched the Xbox 360 gaming console in the North America and European market. The launch has been pretty successful and the next target is Japan, which is the home of their prime rivals in this industry, Sony. Now, there is more information coming out of the company regarding the launch of this gaming device in other Asian countries.
Incoming reports from the company says that the company would be launching the Xbox 360 gaming console in the Asian countries started early spring next year. South Korea is expected to receive its batches on February 24. Other countries will follow this launch. Microsoft had already announced that the console would be launched in Australia on March 2.
Gamers in Taiwan and Singapore would also get their Xbox 360 units on March 2 launch. Microsoft has ensured that they would launch the Xbox 360 in all the Microsoft markets within six months of the original launch in the United States. Regional Xbox head Alan Bowman said in a statement: “We wanted to make sure within the first six months that we could get the 360 into all existing Xbox 1 markets. I am very optimistic that demand is going to be significant. We’re working very hard to keep supply up with demand.”
However, they have not revealed much on the pricing of the console in these smaller markets but it is expected to be in close range of the prices in American and Europe. The company has also not confirmed whether these markets would get both the variants of the Xbox 360 or just the fully loaded one, which comes with an attachable hard drive.
