Indiagames to bring Electronic Arts content to Indian mobile phones

Indiagames has managed to get the world’s largest producer of videogames, Electronic Arts to bring their mobile games to the Indian market. The company has gone into an exclusive agreement with EA and they would now be bringing EA’s range of mobile games to consumers across multiple mobile carriers in India. This is good news for Indian mobile users as they can now expect to play some really high quality games on their handsets.

Indiagames is owned in majority by the China’s wireless internet company Tom Online and have some major investors in the form of giants like Macromedia Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc. they would be kicking this partnership with popular titles like EA Sports FIFA 06 this calendar year. They should have all sorts of games for the Indian mobile users including some of the most famous titles in the world like the NFS Series and others.

Mobile games are designed to be easy-to-use and these titles would be offering intuitive controls with game play that is fun for either five minutes or five hours. Some other games in the pipeline includes biggies like Need for Speed Underground 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, NBA LIVE 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, EA Sports FIFA 06, FIFA Street 2, Madden NFL 06, SimCity and The Sims 2.

Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondal said in a statement: “We are thrilled to bring such legendary and popular games to Indian audiences. We are convinced that thousands of Indian fans will enjoy the opportunity to experience these games on their mobile phones.”

He was joined by EA Asia Publishing president and managing director Jon Niermann who added: “Indiagames is a key partner for us as we expand our business from packaged goods to mobile content in the burgeoning Indian marketplace. They have a strong technological infrastructure and share our passion for delivering top quality entertainment. Indian consumers are quickly adopting a mobile lifestyle and we believe that this partnership will give people the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of playing great games on their mobile phone.”
