One of the interesting rumors in the gaming market is that the most profitable company in the whole episode of the launch of the Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming machine is none other than the online shopping major eBay. As soon as this next generation gaming console was launched in the retail stores in the North America, it has been resold at a premium price on the eBay web based store.
As per reports, during the first week of its launch, Xbox 360 units were being sold on the eBay at a rate of one every 13 seconds during peak hours. And experts also put the total value of all Xbox 360 sold on eBay till now to be around USD 23 million. The shortage in the market for this gaming machine due to excessive demand meant that some of the early buyers of this gaming machine made a fortune by selling their units on the internet.
The average selling price of the Xbox 360 on eBay is said to be in the region of more than USD 700. This console is otherwise being sold for $299 or $399 in the market depending upon the variant the consumer chooses. The more expensive version comes with an external hard drive along with some other hardware to enhance the overall gaming experience with this gaming machine.
