Quake 4 for Macintosh to be published by Aspyr
Aspyr Media has announced that they would be bringing the popular sequel to the famed Quake videogame to the Macintosh platform. Quake 4 was released a couple of months ago for the PC and the videogame consoles and next year would see the launch of the Quake 4 for the Macintosh platform.
Quake 4 is essentially a sequel to the very hit Quake 2 and continues to story from where the second version ended. The game is a futuristic shooter in which players assume the role of Matthew Kane as he penetrates the stronghold of a barbaric alien race called the Strogg. Quake 3 on the other hand was an arena-based game play with a totally new concept and has nothing to do with the story of the previous version.
Quake 4 has been developed on the engine of the Doom 3 videogame and also brings with it a strong multiplayer component. They have tried to incorporate the speed, feel, and style of Quake III Arena in this version to keep the gamers happy with this new release. ID Software only published this latest version as it was primarily developed by Raven Software.
Aspyr has however not revealed what kind of system requirement they plan to support with their Quake 4 version for the Macintosh.
