Microsoft planning mobile alerts for Xbox 360 gamers
Microsoft might not have had much success with their Xbox 360 launch in the Japanese market but they are not losing hope. They are starting to add more value to the console’s online service by launching a mobile alert in the US market.
Gamers would soon be able to get alerts on their mobile phones whenever their buddies get online on the Microsoft’s Xbox 360 games console. The service would require the gamers to get online on the Xbox Live service and the messages would transfer from the internet through Xbox Live and come to a mobile over the air as an instant message.
The plans are to transfer any new messages on the service to the SMS boxes of the gamers to keep them up-to-date. The plan is to connect the various services from the company and might even lead to a stage when MSN services are integrated in the Xbox live online system. Gamers might be able to use their MSN Messenger to send messages to buddies playing live on Xbox 360 gaming console.
It would interesting to see how Microsoft would be utilizing their other online products to enhance the experience of the gamers hooked onto their Xbox 360 gaming console.
