Unreal Tournament 2007 to come out for PC before Playstation 3
Unreal Tournament 2007 was touted as the launch vehicle for the upcoming next generation gaming console Playstation 3 from the entertainment giants Sony. However, the latest news in claims that the game is now due to be launched for PC first. An Epic Games producer Jeff Morris confirmed this on the Atari’s community forums. He wrote in a post: “We’re not scheduled to be a ps3 launch title, not certain where those news sites are getting that from. There will be a pre-release demo (on the PC at least).”
However, this should not disappoint the Sony fans as tons of content based on the hugely successful Unreal Engine 3 is already confirmed to appear for the Playstation 3 gaming console due to launch sometime during spring this year. Morris also confirmed that a pre-release demo of the Unreal Tournament 2007 should make an appearance for the PC platform.
Epic vice president Mark Rein added to this report that the game would be out when it’s done and that does not mean that it would be the official launch vehicle for the Sony PS3 gaming console. The basic problem for the game developers continues to remain the fact Sony has not still confirmed the exact launch date for their gaming console.
Rein added: “The question of whether we’re a launch title or not is unanswerable because we don’t know if the PS3 will be out before we’re done or not. … We won’t ship the title on any platform before it’s done, and it is too early to say when that will be.”
