Microsoft Xbox 360: Short supplies might result in missed sales target

Market analysts have claimed that software giants Microsoft would going to suffer due to their failure to manufacture enough units of their Xbox 360 gaming consoles. The demand continues to dominate the supplies of gaming consoles in the market and the end result would be that the company is likely to miss their own sales target for the first six months.

Market rumors have claimed that the company is facing delayed shipments of their next generation gaming console due to shortage of certain parts used in the Xbox 360. It is important for the company to sell enough consoles before their competitors Sony and Nintendo launches their own products sometime later this year.

Sony is due to launch their Playstation 3 and Nintendo would be making available their Revolution gaming console later this year. Microsoft has had the early bird advantage, which they were hoping to use to gain market share from the market leaders Sony. The early days after the launch saw massive shortage of Xbox 360, which resulted in huge premium on the already sold units on reselling sites like eBay.

However, this shortage of Xbox 360 would somewhat help company make less losses this quarter considering they are losing at least $153 on each unit of console they are selling in the retail market. Microsoft is also scheduled to launch new versions of both Windows OS and MS Office suite this year. Overall, it is going to be an exciting year for the consumers.
