Xbox 360 delay could hurt long-term sales for Microsoft
It has been more than 2 months that the software giant launched its Xbox 360 gaming console in the US market. However, even after 2 months, gamers in the country are finding it hard to buy a unit from the market without making an effort out of it.
Microsoft has already revealed that it would take them another 2-3 months to ensure continues supplies of the gaming console in the market. The shortage of consoles has also resulted in company lowering its sales target for the Xbox 360 for the first three months.
However, the problem for the company is that the lesser consoles it sells now, the harder it would be for them to sell them after the competition arrives. Sony is due to launch their Playstation 3 and Nintendo would be launching their Nintendo Revolution sometime this year.
And after those two consoles are available, it would become a lot harder for Microsoft to lure in customers to purchase their Xbox 360. Incoming reports claim that Sony PS3 is indeed a console to worth waiting for and it is pretty much confirmed that a lot of gamers have deferred their decision to purchase the Xbox 360 to check out how good the PS3 is.
Nintendo on their part have said that they are pretty confident of the capabilities of their Revolution console and they would face no problems selling them despite the solid competition provided by both Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo has already proven their expertise to make fantastic gaming consoles with the hugely popular Nintendo DS handheld gaming device which is kicking some serious ass in the Japanese market.
Anyhow, this year is going to be great for the gaming industry and the hardcore gamers who would have three fantastic consoles and many more games to choose from.
