Nintendo DS to support VoIP soon

Japanese gaming hardware giants Nintendo has revealed the new features they plan to add to their hugely popular Nintendo DS handheld gaming console. The company has said that they are soon going to bring VoIP capabilities to this nifty gaming console, which already allow community game play using WiFi connectivity.

The company initially planned to make this facility available for their North American customers. However, the latest news is that this would also be introduced for their European customers.

Nintendo has said that this facility is for gamers to discuss about their strategies and settings before and after the games and will not work during the game play to avoid “trash-talking”. In addition, users would only be able to chat with other Nintendo DS owners who are on their Friends list.

The company also has plans to roll out a series of DS demo kiosks across North America. These would include certain branches of GameStop, EB Games, and Game Crazy.
